A template defines the kind of content you are creating, its structure, sections, and required inputs. Choose the template first, before selecting a style profile or filling in inputs. The template sets the container. Everything else fills it.

How to Choose the Right Template

Ask three questions:
1

Identify the final format

Decide what the completed output should be: article, press release, proposal, report, script, documentation, or another supported format.
2

Match reader expectations

Consider what the reader expects from that format. A technical guide, executive brief, and social campaign require different structure.
3

Consider the post-generation use

Choose based on whether the content will be reviewed by your team, published externally, exported, shared, or reused.
Common mistake: Choosing a template based on topic rather than final format. A blog post about a product launch and a press release about the same launch are different templates.
